Welcome to Entract.me! These terms explain the rules for using our gamified productivity platform. By creating an account, you agree to these terms. We've tried to make them as clear as possible - if you have questions, contact us at help@entract.me.

1. Service Description

Entract.me is a gamified productivity platform. Our service includes:

Locked Todo System: Todos unlocked only by completing focus sessions
Focus Sessions: Timed work periods (15min-4hrs) with website blocking
Browser Extension: Blocks distracting websites during active sessions
Gamification: Streaks, achievements, and progress tracking

By using Entract.me, you agree to these terms.

2. Account Requirements

Age: You must be 16+ to use our service independently. Users 13-16 require parental authorization.

Security: You're responsible for protecting your login credentials and account activity.

Termination: You can delete your account anytime. We may suspend accounts for terms violations or abusive behavior.

3. Acceptable Use

Use Entract.me for legitimate productivity purposes only. Prohibited activities include:

Sharing illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content
System abuse, hacking attempts, or unauthorized access
Automated access without permission
Violating intellectual property rights
Providing false information during signup

Content Ownership: You own your todos and data. You grant us permission to store and process this content to provide our service, in compliance with GDPR and applicable data protection laws.

4. Payments & Subscriptions

Access Control Systems: Entract.me operates different access control systems depending on when you created your account:

Trial System (Grandfathered Users): Users who registered and received a trial benefit from a 7-day free trial period. After the trial ends, a paid subscription is required to continue accessing Entract.me's features.
One Free Session System (New Users): Users who register without receiving a trial get exactly one free focus session. After completing their first session, a paid subscription is required to continue using the platform.

Grandfathering Policy: Users who were previously granted trials will continue to operate under the trial-based access system even after trial expiration. New users registering after the implementation of the one free session system will operate under that system exclusively.

Data Retention:

Grandfathered trial users (registered before September 18, 2025): Data scheduled for deletion 7 days after trial expiration if no subscription is activated
New users (registered September 18 - October 5, 2025): Data scheduled for deletion 14 days after first focus session completion if no subscription is activated
New users (registered after October 5, 2025): Data scheduled for deletion 30 days after account creation if no subscription is activated

Processing: Payments handled securely by Polar with auto-renewal unless cancelled.

Refunds: Contact help@entract.me within 14 days for refund requests.

Changes: 30-day advance notice for subscription price changes.

What this means: We offer different access levels depending on when you joined. Users who joined before September 18, 2025 get a 7-day trial (data deleted 7 days after trial ends). Users who joined between September 18 and October 5, 2025 get one free session (data deleted 14 days after first session completion). Users joining after October 5, 2025 get one free session and have 30 days to subscribe (data deleted after 30 days without subscription). If you subscribe, we'll automatically charge your card each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime, and we'll give you 14 days to request a refund if something goes wrong.

5. Service Availability

"As-Is" Provision: We provide our service without warranties and cannot guarantee 100% uptime.

Modifications: We may update, modify, or discontinue features. Major changes affecting core functionality will receive 30-day advance notice.

Data Export: Available before account cancellation.

Support Access: Entract.me personnel may access user account data when necessary for debugging, technical support, or resolving service issues. Access is limited to authorized staff, logged for security purposes, and used solely to resolve the specific issue.

6. Intellectual Property

Platform: Entract.me's code, design, and features are our intellectual property
Your Data: You retain ownership of your personal content
Third-Party: We use open-source libraries under their respective licenses

7. Liability & Disclaimers

Productivity Results: Entract.me is a productivity tool - results depend on your personal effort and consistency.

Warranties: Service provided without warranties of any kind.

Limitation of Liability: Neither Entract.me nor its suppliers, officers, affiliates, representatives, contractors, and employees shall be responsible or liable with respect to any subject matter of this agreement under any contract, negligence, strict liability or other theory for: (a) error or interruption of use, loss or corruption of data, or cost of procurement of substitute services; (b) any indirect, special, exemplary, incidental, consequential or punitive damages; or (c) any direct damages in amounts that exceed the greater of €50 and the fees paid by you to Entract.me in the 6 months prior to the event giving rise to liability. This limitation applies whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

What this means: Entract.me is a tool to help your productivity, but results depend on your effort. If something goes wrong, our liability is limited to either €50 or what you've paid us in the last 6 months (whichever is higher). We won't be responsible for indirect damages like lost profits or business interruption.

8. Dispute Resolution

Governing Law: French law applies.

Jurisdiction: French courts have jurisdiction.

9. Terms Updates

We may update these terms with 30-day advance notification via email or platform announcement. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance. For material changes affecting data processing, we'll seek your explicit consent where required by GDPR.

Our website may link to external sites not operated by us. We have no control over their content and practices, and cannot accept responsibility for their privacy policies.
